The behaviours below are commonly linked to a left-brain delay. As with the previous section, your child may show traits from both sides — but if Functional Disconnection Syndrome (FDS) is present, one side will typically be more affected than the other.

Children with a brain imbalance behave the way they do because the area of their brain that controls behaviour is underdeveloped.

This is the reasoning part of the brain. It’s why, as every parent knows, you can’t reason with a small child because this part of the brain has yet to develop.

It is also why behaviour modification programs most often do not work. A child cannot learn behaviour that he or she really doesn’t understand.
